A chemist by trade, Sophia Dill continues to work in sustainability and social efforts by partnering with TS Designs to research and develop opportunities for community engagement in sustainability initiatives. Sophia’s commitment to the environment and outreach was encouraged as early as elementary school, when they joined a cohort of 4th-graders to assist in educating the city of Louisville, KY, on a number of established environmental principles.
A beekeeper since middle school, Sophia attended Catawba College’s Redesigning Our Future national environmental summit in high school and received a mini-grant from Burt’s Bees to support educational initiatives at Western Alamance High School. While attending Randolph College, Sophia worked on behalf of Randolph’s Sustainability Council to establish the school as the first Bee Campus USA affiliate in Virginia in 2016, a partnership which subsequently informed the recent Bee City USA certification of Lynchburg, VA.
