TS Designs supports a unique line of t-shirts called “Cotton of the Carolinas.” If you haven’t heard about it, it’s definitely worth investigating!
Instead of relying on imported cotton to make t-shirts, all the cotton is grown in the Carolinas! We have farmers who grow both conventional and certified organic cotton, and we use it to create some of the softest t-shirts you’ve ever worn. Cool, right? We haven’t even mentioned that each t-shirt is printed with a code. When you enter this code online at the cottonofthecarolinas.com website, you can track your shirt to the exact spot where the cotton was grown. Now that’s really cool.
Our tagline for the Cotton of the Carolinas project is “Dirt to Shirt” – because that’s exactly what’s happening: the t-shirts are made from dirt to shirt…all in the Carolinas! The project supports over 500 jobs in the region. And we boast a completely transparent supply chain.
People told us it couldn’t be done. They said that bringing the entire supply chain down to one specific region wasn’t going to be feasible, but we’ve done it. And we’re really proud to be blazing a new trail in sustainable fashion.
We need a fresh design to promote “Dirt to Shirt” and we’re calling on Designers to be a part of this creative experience.
If you’re a Designer looking for a way to get your name out to a wider audience, we’d love you to consider submitting your design ideas for our Cotton of the Carolinas “Dirt to Shirt” project. Here are some ideas for inspiration:

- All of this is done in about 600 miles (very low within the garment industry)

How to Submit Your Design:
- no larger than 14in x 14in (front of shirt)
- No more than three (3) colors, plus white
- Choose from any of our t-shirts colors here
- Submit contact details and design file in vector format to jen@tsdesigns.com
If we choose your design to represent our Cotton of the Carolinas “Dirt to Shirt” motto, here’s what you get…
- Two (2) Cotton of the Carolinas t-shirts (you specify the sizes) with your design
- Promotion on our Social Network Platforms for the duration of the t-shirt printing campaign
- $150 one-time payment (as “work for hire”)
*I suppose every contest has to have fine print. Here’s ours. The contest runs from July 1st, 2013 until August 31, 2013 11:59pm EST. Winner(s) will be announced on September 5, 2013 before 5pm EST. Voting will be conducted internally by TS Designs staff members. Submitting a design does not guarantee compensation or promotion of any kind, but we also won’t use, sell or claim rights over your artwork in any way if it doesn’t win. Each winner will be contacted privately for payment details and asked to provide a Continental US address for shipment of t-shirts. TS Designs manages several online social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc…) and will be using these platforms to promote design winner(s) websites and online portfolio links. Winners accept that payment is provided as “work for hire” and that there is no commitment made for ongoing revenue of any kind. Winners’ graphic(s) may be printed on either Cotton of the Carolinas *or* Cotton of the Carolinas – Organic, and the shirts they receive will be whichever type their design is printed on.
