We’re excited to announce that our President, Eric Henry, was invited to be a guest on a panel at this year’s NC Main Street Conference. He was a part of the Innovation, Collaboration and Impact track: Fresh Food to Downtown. His work with our local co-op in Downtown Burlington puts him in a unique position to provide a first-hand perspective on what it means to bring fresh food, local food to a downtown area.

What sets downtown apart from traditional economic development? Innovative, creative approaches to local investing, property redevelopment and new business models, entrenched in community values. Local leaders change communities and every community has local assets, talents and resources, just waiting to be tapped.

“The challenge we confront is getting people to understand the value of LOCAL when compared to the big-box, cheaper, outsourced-priced products and services. No different than the challenge we face in the apparel market.
