We’re advocates for legalizing industrial hemp in America. It seems ludicrous that we can import it to make a countless number of products, but that we aren’t able to grow it legally. Can you image how many jobs we’re missing out on?
Hemp, which is different enough from marijuana that it shouldn’t be categorized as a controlled substance, offers so many positive impacts to creating a sustainable world.
Industrial hemp is getting a boost from Congress. And we think that’s a great thing. “The global market for hemp consists of some 25,000 products, according to a report by the Congressional Research Service, including fabric, paper, rope, auto parts and home furnishings. Hemp seed, meanwhile, is an alternative protein source used in a variety of food and beverages, and can be pressed to make body oils, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.” (Read more: Los Angeles Times)
