Southey Blanton for NC Senate District 25

Southey Blanton was born and raised in North Carolina and is running to represent District 25 in the North Carolina Senate. The son of a longtime public school teacher, he learned early the value of strong public schools. For the past decade, he and his wife have raised their four children in public schools in Alamance County, where Southey has volunteered, coached, and supported teachers, students and staff who do more each year with fewer resources.

Southey is running because he believes it’s time for leaders who will put families first. He will fight to fully fund public schools, restore current and retired educator pay and benefits, and stop taxpayer dollars from being diverted away from the schools that serve every child. He is committed to lowering costs for families by addressing rising utility rates and increasing affordable housing. Southey also believes healthcare is a right and will defend Medicaid expansion, maternal health, and access to care for all North Carolinians.
