We were so excited when our friends at Counter Culture Coffee invited us towards the end of the year to be a part of an awesome collaboration with The Avett Brothers. We love having the opportunity to connect with our North Carolinian neighbors and effect a positive impact on our community!
And in this specific case, we are honored that one of our in-house t-shirt brands can be used to show our support for the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We applaud their values and appreciate how their commitment has improved the lives of so many children and their families.

Scott Avett, one of the lead singers and founding members of the folk-rock band, is also an accomplished artist and printmaker. He owns his own gallery in Concord, North Carolina and has had his work displayed in the Envoy Gallery in New York City.
The Avett Brothers take supporting St. Jude’s very seriously. In August of 2011, Bob Crawford, bassist in the band, received the call that every parent hopes they’ll never receive. His baby daughter, Hallie, had been found in her crib with symptoms of a serious and unique health condition. After attempting to find the best treatment possible for Hallie, Bob and his wife were days from traveling to a special hospital in Florida to seek answers and treatment. He received a call from his insurance company notifying him that her care would not be covered through insurance. Luckily their hope was restored through learning of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through many trips and treatments, thankfully Hallie is doing well and is happy and healthy. This experience has created a great desire within the Avett family, the band, and their incredibly supportive fans, to support St. Jude and get the word out about life-changing work – and we’re happy to be involved!

Made with high quality standards, Cotton of the Carolinas is meant to last. It’s made with a super soft, ringspun fabric, which means that it will be extremely comfortable from the start. The cut is relaxed (read: this is a full-cut, not slim-fit tee) and it has a medium weight (5.4oz). And because of our REHANCE printing technology (we use water-based inks), Thaddeus won’t crack, peel or fade over time. Our inks become part of the shirt, resulting in a print you can’t feel, not to mention that they are much more environmentally-friendly than plastisol. We print and then dye the shirt, so it’s a stable product (read: you wont see much shrinkage, if at all).
