About TS Designs

TS Designs is a wholesale custom t-shirt screen printing business that operates on a sustainable triple bottom line.  We pride ourselves in offering a variety of environmentally friendly, socially responsible apparel options, including our flagship line “Cotton of the Carolinas” – a product made entirely, dirt-to-shirt, in North Carolina.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a skilled, organized individual to manage our art department.  A qualified candidate should:

  • Have experience modifying artwork in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, especially the ability to make complicated masks in Photoshop

  • Be very organized and work well with a list of priorities – you will be given a schedule of tasks to complete and will be expected to manage that schedule efficiently

  • Possess exceptional communication skills – you will work closely with Sales to make sure customer artwork is best represented using our print technology

  • Be able to manage the time of at least one additional as-needed art technician

Preference will be given to those with experience managing the workflow of a department.

Job Activities

The job activities will include:

  • Assessing both raster and vector artwork and providing detailed feedback to Sales regarding any challenges that artwork will pose; examples being artwork that is poor quality artwork, incompatible with our printing process, difficult to separate into spot colors or requiring four-color-process printing, etc…

  • Separating artwork, including some CMYK raster images, into spot colors for screen printing – complex masking in Photoshop will be frequently required

  • Adjusting CMYK values in Photoshop for four-color-process printing based on example printed color charts created by our equipment to ensure good results on the press

  • Outputting film positives and ensuring those positives register well

  • Creating comprehensive art file bags that contain film positives, reference layouts, and write up sheets that give detailed color and placement instructions to our press managers

  • Managing a dynamic schedule of artwork tasks made up of both production and sales needs

More About Hours and Compensation

This is a full time position paid hourly.  You should expect to work 40 hours a week, with occasional overtime.
